Accuracy

The track record

Average error as a share of installed capacity (nMAE), against Elia's published day-ahead forecast.

Average error by window
Daily error
Uncertainty

How tight, and how reliable, the bands are

Share of days the actual output landed inside the 80% range, and how wide that range was. Tighter at the same coverage is better.

Daily detail

Every day, scored

Days marked pending are awaiting Elia's measured generation, which is published with a delay, so the most recent days settle one to two days later.
Method

Independent, transparent, measurable

Every morning, before the day-ahead market gate, OpenWindCast forecasts tomorrow's wind generation for the region: a central estimate in megawatts plus a calibrated 80% range, built from a multi-model weather ensemble. When the real generation is published, every day is scored automatically and added to the public record above.

nMAE

Average forecast error as a percentage of installed capacity.

80% range (P10–P90)

The interval the actual output should land in 80% of the time, calibrated daily.

Benchmark

Elia's published Day-Ahead 11:00 forecast, a fixed yardstick that is never used as an input.
